There is no lack of creative ideas out there. The best ideas are often rather obvious and not so complex in nature. They often come from applying something that has been a proven success in one industry, to a completely different industry or situation, but with similar conditions. Where the potential is higher.

Most ideas need specific conditions to prosper i.e. if you have an idea on how to revolutionize a certain bank service, not owning a bank, it is of little or no value to you.

Ideas need to be structured and often proven to become approved and implemented. They need to be understood by the executives taking the decision. Financial means is mostly not the hinder, rather a lack of clear decision mandate or lack of key resources to be allocated. Often the most obvious and therefore best ideas needs to be top executive decisions to make it happen. This is because they need cross functional development to prosper.

The result of all this is that the right ideas are seldom presented to the right person with the right pre-conditions (capital, mandate and in the right industry).

Our mission is to make sure that the right business development ideas are brought to the best suited management teams. We’re still in the beginning of this era that started during the 70s and the change accelerates. We will not see the peek of impact in our lives for another twenty years.

If the last twenty years have been an era a of “globalized efficiency” we believe that successful companies, while still continue to be efficient, to a much higher degree need to become more “dynamic”.

Let’s put it into perspective. 90% of all existing data in the world was created during the last two years and 10% of all photos in the world, since 1830, was taken during the last year. It will have an enormous effect on how people, and therefore consumers, act, think and behave. Our economy, at least in high income countries, is more and more made up of services. When cost for production, replication, distribution, global reach and communication goes towards zero it totally changes entry barriers and rules for competition. Product cycles become shorter and shorter and there is an information overflow that humans have a problem to cope with. The time to capitalize on an invention or competitive edge has become much shorter.

Let’s face it. It has already happened. Look on the music and media distribution. Just ten years ago there where hundred of thousands of people employed selling records and videos. Today much of it is managed by a couple of thousand people at companies like Spotify and Netflix. Take the transportation industry. One of the worlds largest sectors, employing millions of people. In maybe 10-15 years a large part of these jobs will be wiped out by self driving vehicles. This is not science fiction. Self driving cars already exist today and they are already safer drivers than humans.

As quoted from Bill Gates “We always overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years and underestimate the change that will occur in the next ten. Don't let yourself be lulled into inaction”.

We’re not talking about startups, even if we do not exclude them by default. Instead we try to find established players that are best suited to capitalize on it. Players with the best soil for concepts to grow. We see soil for growth as, for example, an established customer base, brand, distribution network, production capacity or business logic.

Concepts may vary in maturity level, from a simple idea on the back of an envelope to a full-fledged prototype with a proven case and established business partners. Sometimes, the customer brings the original idea, which we are fueling jointly.
